The chaplain acts as a Church liaison for individuals who suffer emotionally, spiritually, and physically. We primarily take the good news of Jesus beyond the church walls. We are Jesus’ ambassadors standing ready to minister within prison walls, schools, hospitals, community organizations, funerals, etc. We offer the love of Jesus and demonstrate His love in word and deed. Together, with the word of God, we desire to lift their hearts and spiritually support them through every stage of their journey.

Pastor Daggs' Biography
Pastor James Daggs' lifelong journey of faith and ministry has been marked by steadfast dedication, profound spiritual growth, and a commitment to serving communities.

Pastor Daggs discovered his faith at a tender age, accepting Christ at New Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, under the guidance of Pastor Ames. His early years were shaped by a strong sense of calling, leading him to join Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, founded by his Father, and serve there until health challenges.
After serving in the US Navy and being honorably discharged in 1975, Pastor Daggs returned to his calling to ministry. He officially confessed his calling in 1977 and delivered his inaugural sermon, setting the stage for a lifelong spiritual leadership and service journey. In pursuit of deeper theological understanding, Pastor Daggs pursued studies at Houston Baptist University, where he majored in Biblical Studies & Humanities from 1978 to 1981. His commitment to ministry was recognized in 1982 when he was ordained by Pastor Tatum at New Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, a pivotal moment affirmed his path in service to God and the community.
From 1983 to 1988, Pastor Daggs served as assistant Pastor under Pastor Felton Tisino at Community Missionary Baptist Church, where he further honed his pastoral skills and expanded his outreach within the Houston community. In 1988, Pastor Daggs answered another call, this time to Sacramento, California, where he joined Gospel Center Church of God In Christ under Pastor John Doyle. Here, he served faithfully as a minister and was ordained to Elder by Bishop W. W. Hamilton, continuing his ministry in a new environment.

In 1996, Pastor Daggs founded House of Restoration Power & Praise in Sacramento, where his passion for ministry and music converged. He recorded his first gospel record as a lead vocalist and became actively involved in community organizing through the Sacramento Valley Organizing Community, spanning Yolo, Solano, and Sacramento counties.
After over a decade in Sacramento, Pastor Daggs returned to his roots in Houston in 2004. He resumed his collaboration with Pastor Felton Tisino, this time serving as assistant Pastor at Community Missionary Baptist Church, where his experience and leadership enriched the congregation.
In 2014, Pastor Daggs embarked on a new chapter by founding New House of Restoration Power & Praise Ministries in Houston, assuming the role of Servant Senior Pastor. Under his leadership, the ministry has flourished, emphasizing spiritual growth, community outreach, and worship.
